Attachment & Developmental Trauma

Attachment and developmental trauma refer to the emotional and psychological harm that occurs when a child’s early relationships and environment fail to provide consistent safety, nurturing, or support. Attachment trauma happens when a child’s bond with primary caregivers is disrupted or unhealthy, leading to difficulties in forming trusting relationships later in life. Developmental trauma is the result of ongoing adverse experiences during critical stages of development, such as neglect, abuse, or inconsistent caregiving.
